Serato released 2.4 that hosted a few new features to the software. In this post, we look at the feature of live streaming stream from Serato.
More and more DJs have started to use online platforms to do DJ sets. However, there are complications on how to get the music connected. Serato has released this feature to help with that issue.
How does streaming from Serato work
The live streaming feature works by downloading a 3rd party software on to your laptop. Windows uses “Virtual Audio Cable Lite”, and Mac users will use “iShowU Audio Capture”. The 3rd Party software will then capture the sound that would come out of the controller. The sound is then senit to another application.
Once the 3rd Party software is downloaded and installed, An option is available in Serato to capture the output. Applications such as OBS or Zoom can now pick up the output from Serato without the need of any other connections.
The Set-Up
- When in serato click in the options (Cog) and navigate to the Audio tab

2. Click on the link to download the 3rd party software, this will take you to the website to download and install.

3. Once the 3rd party software in download and installed, head back into Serato and enable “Make Audio Available in Other Applications”

4. Head over to the streaming application eg OBS or Zoom. When selecting your audio the 3rd party software will be available to select.
